Petrolia man charged with kidnapping in Sarnia

A Petrolia man is facing kidnapping charges after an incident in Sarnia.

Around 1 pm Friday, Sarnia Police were called to the corner of Confederation and Stuart after a 22 year-old woman had frantically run up to a home saying she’d been kidnapped.

Police say earlier in the day, two men and a woman had come into the the 22 year-old’s home; one was carrying an axe. The woman was assaulted in her home and taken to a waiting vehicle by a third man. She was held in the vehicle against her will, police say, and continued to be assaulted.

The suspects later pushed her out of the vehicle and she ran for help. Police added she was not dressed for the weather.

Police arrested one person. Alexander Morningstar-Hall, 30, of Petrolia is being until a bail hearing on the charges of kidnapping and break and enter.

Police believe this was a targeted incident among people who knew each other. They expect further arrests.
