February 18, 2025
Don Nelson – the former deputy mayor of Plympton-Wyoming – has died.

Nelson was a small business owner, operating Nelson’s Flowers in Reeces Corners for many years. He was also an active member of the Wyoming Lions Club.
Nelson also served his community in political office. He was the last person to be elected as the deputy mayor of the amalgamated municipality before the elected position was phased out in 2014. He served as councillor for the next term. The position was reinstated for the 2018 election and Muriel Wright was elected.
He passed away Monday at the age of 83.
