Flyer take game one of semis with 6-5 win over Bulldogs

The Petrolia Flyers only led once in the Yeck Division semi-final opener but it was when it mattered the most as they prevailed 6-5 over the Mt. Brydges Bulldogs Saturday.

Tobias Iantorno’s second goal of the game at 19:46 of the extra period brought the home team back from 3-1, 4-2 and 5-4 deficits. He also had two assists.

Ryan Richardson scored twice and Austin Harper added a goal and two assists. Harper was also unsuccessful on a penalty shot in the second period. Owen Peters also scored for Petrolia and added an assist with Andrew Jaques registered two assists. Richardson was the Flyers’ player of the game.

Ethan Everaert made 44 saves as the visitors out shot the Flyers, 49-46. Former London Knights goalie Aiden Berry took the loss.

Sarnia’s Nathan Lavender had a goal for the Bulldogs.

Game two is in Mt. Brydges on Sunday night.

One person injured in transport crash on Highway 402

Province sets aside $6M for abandoned wells, like last year
