Flyers need one more win to claim Yeck championship

March 27, 2025

The Independent

The Petrolia Flyers are one win away from winning the Yeck Division final.

The Flyers had three goals in the third – including two during a five-minute power play – to top Exeter 4-3 Thursday night.

Exeter opened the scoring in the first, but Andrew Jaques responded scoring off the sticks of Ryan Richardson and Tobais Iantorno at 14:31.

Petrolia was down 3-1 about two minutes into the third when they came roaring back. Richardson combined with Iantorno and Austin Harper for the first goal of the comeback.

Twenty-three seconds later, it was Iantorno’s turn to score with the help of Harper and Noel Sanderson.

Then, at 15:59, Lucas Rogers scored the game winner with Sanderson and Parker Davidson assisting.

The Flyers can win the divisional championship Friday in Exeter. If they do, the team will face either Lakeshore or Essex conference final.
