Emergency exercise planned at Arlanxeo
May 7, 2025
If you’re driving near Churchill Line and Highway 40 this morning, you might notice what appears to be an emergency situation at ARLANXEO.
The Bluewater Association for Safety Environment and Sustainability and local first responders are holding a Emergency Response Simulation today.
Community members may notice first responder activity and emergency equipment in the area of
ARLANXEO’s Butyl Production Unit, near Churchill Line and Highway 40, on the morning of May 7.
The simulation will be led by ARLANXEO, with Sarnia Fire and Rescue, Aamjiwnaang First Nation, industry, police, and emergency response teams from across the region.
Officials say the annual mutual aid exercise is a “critical opportunity for municipal and industrial partners to test emergency response plans, equipment and personnel in a controlled environment. It also helps identify any potential issues with communication.
The event is being held during Emergency Preparedness Week.
