LCCVI claims seven gold in Day One of LK track and field meet

LCCVI athletes hit the top of the podium seven times during the first day of the Lambton-Kent track and field meet in Chatham.

Hunter Campbell, James Grant, Jamison Helps, Kole Chapman, Meagan Munro and Xander Knapp all placed first in their respective events.

Knapp won the Novice Men’s 100M Hurdles finishing with a time of 16.62, 0.14 before the rest of the pack. He also placed fifth in the Novice Men’s Long Jump.

Munro was a full second ahead of the pack winning the Novice Women’s 80M Hurdles with a time of 13.10. LCCVI’s Belle Stewart placed fifth in the event.

Munro also took home second in the Junior 100 M. Stewart placed second in the Junior Women’s 400M.

Chapman continued his domination of the 100M Hurdles placing first with a time of 15.48 Tuesday in Chatham.

Helps tossed the Shot Put 12.62 M in his win in Junior Mens Shot Pub.

Grant won the 1500 Senior Men’s event with a time of 4:22.73. He placed fourth in the 400M.

And Campbell took the Senior Men’s Discus event with a throw of 45.93M.

The Junior Women won the 4x100M relay with a time of 53.73. The Junior Boys placed third in their event.

  • Gavin Carver, fourth, Junior 150M
  • Amberly Van Stempvoort, fourth Junior Long Jump
  • Christian Campbell, fifth, Junior Triple Jup
  • Hunter Mitchell, fifth, Senior 100M Hurdles
  • LCCVI Senior Men, fifth, 4x100M Relay

Regionally, Lambton Kent Composite School athletes claimed two titles. Kinser Rivest won the Junior Men’s 100M Dash with a time of 11.52.

Juliet Osborne won the Junior Triple Jump with a leap of 10.07M. She also claimed second in the Long Jump with a mark of 4.43M

And Dresden’s Jeremiah Zomerman of Chatham Christian School won the Senior High Jump clearing 1.95M
