Highway 402 back in business after cement buckles in the heat
June 25, 2025
Highway 402 has reopened between Oil Heritage Road and Mandaumin Road.
Lambton OPP were called to the westbound lanes around 6 pm Sunday after two vehicles blew out their tires. They had hit a massive bump after cement roadway had buckled in the heat. Since then, traffic was diverted off the highway at Reeces Corners with thousands of transports travelling down London Line to get back on the 402 at Mandaumin.
The Ministry of Transportation has now temporarily fixed the problem. Officials say a more permanent fix will be completed this fall.
