Core Jackson may be headed to the Big Apple. The Wyoming native was selected in the fifth round of the MLB Draft by the New York Yankees on Monday afternoon.

The LCCVI grad collected many accolades at Utah. He was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference team in 2024 and to the Big 12 All-Conference Team in 2025. Jackson was also a semifinalist for the Brooks Wallace Award, which is given to the top shortstop in the NCAA.
Jackson has come back home in the summer to play senior baseball with the Sarnia Brigade since 2022. He was recently named the most valuable player at the Gold Bat Invitational.
Baseball has taken Jackson all over North America. He played with the Canadian National Junior Team in 2020 before heading to the US where he played with the University of Nebraska and South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Arizona before finishing his college career in Utah.
