Long-time Enniskillen clerk retires after 32 years

It is the end of the era at Enniskillen Township as Administrator-Clerk Duncan McTavish attended his last meeting after nearly 32 years of service, before his retirement.
“I know it has been uncomfortable for Duncan to acknowledge anything, but since this is the last meeting he will be attending, I just want to thank him for his many years of service,” said Mayor Kevin Marriott, who attended the meeting remotely on Monday from the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference. “I know he won’t be invisible in the community.”
Marriott has been receiving a lot of pressure from people to have a retirement party for McTavish, saying he might never hear the end of it if there isn’t one. McTavish joked this might become an election issue for Marriott.
McTavish will be returning to the municipality in some “minimal way” to assist with the transition, so they may discuss whether a retirement party will be held at that time.
The new administrator-clerk will be no stranger to Enniskillen Township as Deputy Clerk Christine Poland will be moving into that position. The appointment will take effect immediately.
