Two GTA men arrested after $44 million in cocaine seized at Bluewater Bridge in August

Canada Border Service says $44 million in cocaine was seized at the Bluewater Bridge in August in two separate seizures.
Aug. 13, border guards inspected a transport and found six boxes containing 150 kilogrmas of cocaine. Officials estimate it would be worth $18.8 million on the street.
The next day, border officers found 199 kilograms of cocaine in a transport trailer. It’s value is estimated at $24.9 million.
Gurjeet Singh, 28, of Brampton was arrested Aug. 13 and turned over to the RCMP. Abdikadir Egal, 38, of Etobicoke was arrested Aug. 14.
Since January, the Canadian Border Services has seized 1,424 kg of cocaine from the US, compared to 878 kg from all other countries combined.
