Habitat for Humanity starts next Lambton build in Forest

Work on the next Habitat for Humanity housing in Forest has begun.

Officials were on hand Oct. 2 to turn the soil on the four-plex to be built on Union Street. The building will be near two homes built by Habitat volunteers in 2023.

On hand for the event was Darryl Blum of Habitat for Humanity Sarnia/Lambton, Tren who is one of the future home owners, Lambton Shores Mayor Doug Cook, Stephen McAuley, Lambton Shores Chief Administrative Officer, and Sarnia-Lambton Habitat for Humanity CEO David Waters.

Bright’s Grove library construction expected to start in July

Heather Wright/The Independent Construction on the $5.8 million upgrade at the Bright’s Grove Library will start a little in sooner than expected. And that means the Gallery in the Grove will close Saturday.
