Runners take their mark at 33rd annual elementary school cross country meet

Parents, teachers, and kids filled up Bridgeview Park to watch the Lambton Central Petrolia Optimist Club elementary school cross country meet on Wednesday. 856 runners from 18 different elementary schools participated in the event.

The top three finishers were Grade 8: Boys: Declan Rodey (Errol Village), Hunter Pembleton (Centennial), Mason Portiss (Lakeroad);

Girls: Amara Burns (Bridgeview), Layla Moran (Lakeroad), Ava Larson (Errol Village);

Grade 7: Boys: Brad Bristowe (Grand Bend), Colton Houck (Cathcart), Linkin Hill (QEII Petrolia);

Girls: Nyah Shain (Hillcrest), Jaylyn Bell (Cathcart), Chelsea Sipkens (John Knox);

Grade 6: Boys: Nathan Pavli (Errol Village), Grant Beasely (Bright’s Grove), Hudson Veneema (St. Philip);

Girls: Oakleight VandeSchoot (Plympton Wyoming), Layla Hillsdon Templeton (Cathcart), Summer Feddes (Wallaceburg Christian);

Grade 5: Boys: Jack Walker (St. Philip), Oliver Nutma (John Knox), Andrew Raiger (Independent runner);

Girls: Brianne Pfaff (Cathcart), Waylynn Jacques (Errol Village), McKenzie Miller (Errol Village);

Grade 4: Boys: Nash Jeffrey (Errol Village), Nick Bell (Bright’s Grove), Colt Sutton (Cathcart);

Girls: Enid Campbell (Hillcrest), Alice Pavil (Errol Village), Abrielle Morrison (Brooke).
