Flyers, Bulldogs game suspended

The Independent
For the second time in recent months a PJHL game between the Petrolia Flyers and Mt. Brydges Bulldogs has been adversely affected by a serious injury.
The game between the teams Saturday in Mt. Brydges was suspended midway through the second period when a Bulldog player suffered an injury to the head and neck area, according to Flyers GM Dennis Meston.
The player was released from hospital early Sunday morning and is awaiting further results from tests on his neck, head and spine.
A member of the Bulldogs suffered a severe cut to his arm in a playoff game between the teams in Petrolia in March when he was inadvertently stepped on by a skate.
The Flyers are back on home ice Thursday against Lucan and then take on the Irish on the road Saturday.
Petrolia is 4-4-1 on the season following a 4-3 shootout loss to Aylmer Oct. 14. Jace McGrail scored his first goal as a Flyer. Tobias Iantorno and Lucas Rogers also lit the lamp for Petrolia.
