LCCVI, North Lambton remain undefeated in girls basketball

LCCVI’s junior girls basketball team and North Lambton’s senior girls basketball team improved to 8-0 with victories in Petrolia on Wednesday.
The Lancers junior squad came away with a convincing 46-18 win over North Lambton to clinch the best regular season record in the ‘AA’ division.
In senior play, North Lambton’s second half surge helped them get a 38-31 win over LCCVI. Alexis Wice scored a game-high 22 points for the Eagles. It’s the third consecutive game that she has put up 20 or more points. North Lambton’s Lily Heynsberger (11 points) and LCCVI’s Aliya Anderson (10 points) also scored in double figures.
LCCVI takes on John McGregor in their final game of the regular season Oct. 29. The juniors start at 5:30 pm and the seniors will follow at 7:00 pm. It will be an important matchup for the senior team with the winner getting the second seed in the ‘AA’ division. Both teams have a 4-4 record.
On the same date, North Lambton plays a doubleheader in Wallaceburg with the juniors taking the court at 5:30 pm and the seniors playing at 7:00 pm.
