The Petrolia Squires rallied from an early two-goal deficit to beat the Flames, 6-2 in Ontario Elite Hockey League action Saturday in Delhi.

Trailing 2-0 after a period, Josh Barraclough and TJ Harris scored in the middle frame to send the teams into the second intermission tied at two.

Ben Schoch scored the eventual game-winning marker early in the third period as the Squires scored four unanswered goals. Barraclough completed his hat trick scoring twice in the third along with Colby Ackworth. Ryan Fraser and Isaac McLean both had two assists.

Connor McKinlay stopped 20 shots for his first win of the season for the Squires. Petrolia outshot the Flames, 44-22.

Friday at home, Jakob Knowles turned aside 46 shots to lead the Squires to a 3-1 win over Milverton.

After a scoreless first period, Schoch and Harris gave the home team a 2-0 advantage after 40 minutes. Wes Brooks scored early in the third to increase the Squires’ lead before Milverton spoiled the shutout bid just before the seven-minute mark of the final frame.

Petrolia, now 3-0 on the season, is at Seaforth on Saturday. The next home game is against Erin on Nov. 7.

Highway 402 closed at Watford after accident

Highway 402 eastbound is closed at Nauvoo Road after two tractor trailers collided. A streamer across Lake Huron is dumping the traditional snow belt area with about a foot of snow on the ground around Highway 402 and Arkona Road. Lambton OPP say a number of vehicles are involved but no injuries have been reported. One of the transport jackknifed.
