The Herman Griffins scored a touchdown on their first drive on a 15-yard run, on the Windsor team’s way to a 55-3 win over the LCCVI Lancers to claim the SWOSSAA football title on Tuesday.
LCCVI got their only points in the first quarter off the foot of Hunter Duncan who nailed a 35-yard field goal for the Lancers.
But after that, Herman blew open the scoring. The Windsor team had five touchdowns – three of them rushing – and a safety in the second quarter to send the Lancers back to the dressing room down 42-3.
The Lancers showed some life in the second half, forcing a couple of fumbles but was not able to put any balls in the end zone.
Herman had a six-yard touchdown in the third and a 21-yard touchdown run in fourth to finish the game.
Duncan was named LCCVI’s player of the game in the SWOSSAA final.
