RIDE checks nab 23 Lambton drivers in a week

Lambton County OPP have charged 23 people with impaired driving in the last week. It’s part of the Christmas RIDE program.
Across the West region, over 180 drivers face criminal charges after RIDE checks last week, including 23 in Lambton.
So far, West Region officers have conducted 2,076 RIDE checks in the 13 detatchments with 184 people charged and 27 being issued warning suspensions.
In Lambton over the four weeks according to OPP statistics, 52 people face impaired charges and 13 were issued warning suspensions.
In 2025, before the OPP launched its Christmas RIDE initiative, officers laid 2,461 impaired charges in the West Region, an increase of six per cent over the same time last year.
