‘Salesman’ takes $300 from Forest area homeowner

Lambton OPP are warning residents about letting door-to-door salesmen into your home after a Forest family was robbed.
Around 1:45 pm, Dec. 17, police were called to Hickory Creek Line in Lambton Shores. The homeowner had let a man who said he was an eavestrough salesman into the house. The homeowner left the room for a moment, the salesman stole $300 from the homeowners wallet and left.
The suspect is described as:
· Male, approximately 45-55 years old
· Approximately 5’5″ tall
· Wearing a grey jacket, blue hat, and work boot
OPP is reminding people to be careful when dealing with door-to-door salespersons or service providers. Residents are encouraged to:
· Ask for official identification and proof of employment
· Avoid allowing unknown individuals into your home
· Take time to verify legitimacy of any unsolicited services
· Contact police is something appears suspicious
