North Lambton, LCCVI, in top three as senior girls volleyball playoffs loom

Wallaceburg improved to 8-1 in senior girls’ AA volleyball action with a three-set win over LCCVI Thursday. The Tartans won the decisive set, 15-13. to capture first place in the four-team league. The Lancers finish third at 4-5.

Elsewhere, second place North Lambton improved to 6-3 with a 2-1 decision over John McGregor.

Earlier this week, North Lambton split two matches with Wallaceburg and LCCVI swept its two matches with John McGregor.

In junior AA action, LCCVI captured first place with a three-set in over Wallaceburg Thursday. The Lancers won the regular season banner with a record of 8-1. Wallaceburg finished second at 7-2.

The other Thursday contest saw North Lambton beat John McGregor, 2-1 including a 17-15 win in the decisive set.

Playoffs begin next Thursday (Feb. 12) with North Lambton hosting LCCVI and Wallaceburg at home to John McGregor. In junior postseason action, also Thursday, LCCVI is home to John McGregor and North Lambton takes on Wallaceburg.

Game times have yet to be announced.

The finals are scheduled for Feb. 19.
