It would appear that it is not always like talking to a wall when speaking to Enniskillen representatives, as Oil Springs Councillor Larry Wagner put it.
At the January council meeting in Oil Springs, Wagner voiced his frustration about the latest Oil Spring and South Enniskillen fire committee meeting.
The Village of Oil Springs staff has taken on the administrative duties of the Oil Springs fire department in recent years, and the village was looking for a way the municipality to recoup these costs.
It appears the Township of Enniskillen has heard the concern.
“It would be fair to consider that these costs be billed to the fire department,” said Enniskillen’s Administrator-Clerk Christine Poland in her report to council at Monday’s Enniskillen meeting.
Poland suggested a line item be added to the Oil Springs fire budget.
More importantly, this has to be added to the next agenda of the fire board, she said. Then the fire committee can hash out what is a fair amount.
Enniskillen Township currently pays 78 percent of the Oil Springs fire department budget with the Village of Oil Springs kicking in 22 percent.
