LCCVI’s Mya Beaudoin hit the podium at the high school provincial wrestling championship.

Beaudoin won a bronze medal at the championships in Peterborough this week.

Sarnia-Lambton grapplers won a pair of gold medals, seven total medals and had 12 top-six finishes at the provincial high school wrestling meet this week in Peterborough.

Jaron Beauvais of Great Lakes and Kayla-Jean Malcolm of St. Patrick’s won first place honours in the boys’ 41-kg. and girls’ 115-kg. groups at the OFSAA event.

Katie Brooks and Kaelyn McArthur of the Wolfpack, JJ McCahill and Lexi Wilkinson of Northern also won bronze medals in their weight classes.

Meantime, Lisa MacLean, Ziya Craig, Taysia Morningstar and Jessie Janoska of Great Lakes all cracked the top six in their respective categories as did Wyatt Langford of Northern.

Great Lakes was third in the girls’ team standings and fourth overall.
