Petrolia’s Charlie Shaw won a team bronze with the University of Guelph Gryphons men’s squad and had a pair of top ten individual finishes too at the U-Sports Track and Field Championship in Winnipeg over the weekend.
The LCCVI grad was 8th in the men’s 1000-metre race in a time of 2:25.38 and was part of the Gryphons’ 4×800 metre that placed ninth.
Following the final race of the competition, the Guelph men thought they had won the overall men’s team title but the 4 x 200 metre Guelph team was disqualified for obstruction giving the team title to Western and dropping the Gryphons to third place.
