Marthaville’s Megan Munro and Mooretown resident Camryn Leitch and their Bluewater Hawks team won the OWHA U18 AA Southern League championship with a 2-0 win over Kingston at Scotiabank Pond Arena in Toronto.

The Hawks had beaten the London Devilettes, Waterloo Ravens, and Stoney Creek Sabres, to reach the final last Sunday.

They had a perfect 11-0 record in the postseason.

Draedyn Wrightman of Moraviantown led the Hawks with a goal and an assist in the championship contest. Jordan Phillips added the insurance marker for Bluewater. Grace Galbraith earned the shutout.

Bluewater is now preparing for a trip to the OWHA provincial tournament in the GTA beginning on April 9.
