Ursuline defeats LCCVI in Lambton-Kent Rugby final

The powerhouse Ursuline College Girls’ Rugby team defeated LCCVI claiming the Lambton-Kent championship in Chatham Thursday.

UCC Lancers have dominated play in the league’s short season, going 4-0 before the L-K final, including defeating the Petrolia Lancers in the first game of the season.

In the Lambton-Kent final May 27, LCCVI came out strong in the first half, playing with UCC, while trailing 10-7. But Ursuline, a AAA team, poured it on in the second half, scoring 26 unanswered points.

Ursuline heads to Lindsay for the AAA OFSAA championship. LCCVI will be in Stratford for the AA provincial championships. Both tournaments start June 4.
