What has been anticipated for weeks is now a reality.
Jack Nesbitt has announced his commitment to the University of Michigan for the 2026-27 NCAA hockey campaign.
The 19-year-old left-shot power forward averaged a point per game last season with the Windsor Spitfires. The Sarnia native, with family ties to Petrolia and Alvinston, had 32 goals and 68 points in 68 regular season and playoff contests with the Spits.
Windsor selected Nesbitt late in the first round of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the Lambton Jr. Sting AAA program.
He heard his name called 12th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers at the NHL draft last summer.
“Thankful for this opportunity (with the Wolverines) and can’t wait to get started,” wrote Nesbitt on social media in making the announcement. He thanked his family, agency, coaches, trainers and teammates for their support along the way.
