Oil City’s Kember eighth at national wrestling tourney

Micah Kember of the  Sarnia Bluewater Wrestling Club is back home after delivering a “determined performance” at the Canadian Wrestling Championships in Montreal, according to his coach Henry Dickson.

The Oil City wrestler competed in the 55-kilo competitors in the under-17 division and reached the final round of the consolation side of the bracket placing in the top eight at the national event.

Kember delivered a strong, confident performance, said Dickson noting that the LCCVI student showed technical and mental growth throughout his closely-contested matches.

”Micah showed the kind of composure and toughness you want to see at a national championship,” said Dickson. “He battled hard in every match and proved he belongs at that level.”
