Organizers of Petrolia’s newest event are hoping for good weather and patient drivers Saturday.

Eats, Beats & Boutiques is set to take over the downtown Saturday. Laurissa Ellsworth, director of marketing, arts and communications in Petrolia, says Petrolia Line will close at 5:30 am to prepare for the street party which at 1 pm.

The Farmers’ Market and most downtown businesses will be open, but Ellsworth says drivers will have to make their way around the back streets to do their shopping. While the “staples” like the grocery and hardware stores will be open, she suggests shoppers call ahead.

For Eats, Beats & Boutiques, drivers are encouraged to park in anyone of the local parking lots including at local schools and churches, and to take the shuttle buses downtown.

As for the weather, Ellsworth is hoping for the best. “If it’s disastrous weather conditions, and obviously, for everyone’s safety, we have to cancel, but otherwise a light rain will proceed.” Any last minute changes will be posted on social media, she says.
