The Point Edward Pacers overcame 3-0, 4-1, 5-2 and 7-4 deficits scoring three times in less than three minutes in the third period to pull even with the Regals in OLA Junior B playoff action in Guelph.
But the home team scored with just over three minutes left in the final frame and held on for an 8-7 win to take the best-of-five first round series in three straight games.
Oil Springs’ Jack Stephenson had the equalizer with just less than seven minutes to play in regulation. Mason Brown and Jonah Kerr each had a goal and assist for the Pacers while Josh Manning and Sam Dezort each contributed two assists.
Courtright’s Austin Dalgety made 38 saves in the Pacers crease.
