It appears this coming season will be the last one for Sarnia captain Alessandro Di Iorio in a Sting uniform.
The former second overall pick in the OHL Priority Selection in 2024 has committed to Boston University for the 2027-28 campaign.
The Columbus Blue Jackets chose Di iorio in the third round, 94th overall at the NHL draft late last month.
He had 12 goals and 31 points in 45 games in an injury-shortened 2025-26 season and added three assists in five games for Team Canada at the World Under-18 Hockey Championships in April.
