Lambton athletes win championships in baseball, football, and lacrosse

Lambton athletes were part of a host of championships with Sarnia teams.

The Sarnia Brigade successfully defended their 22U provincial baseball crown in Kitchener with back-to-back wins over the Windsor Selects. Sarnia and the Selects now both advance to the national championship tournament in Tecumseh next week.

Meantime, the Brigade U16 squad also won its championship with consecutive wins over the top seeded Oshawa Legionnaires
to capture the Premier Baseball League of Ontario championship at Errol Russell Park.

The home team rallied with seven runs in the final inning to beat the visitors, 11-10 in the decisive game on Sunday afternoon.

Area players and coaches also helped the Sarnia Sturgeon win the Ontario Summer League U16 AA football trophy beating the
Toronto Jr. Argos, 38-17 while the Sturgeon U18 AA team won its consolation trophy defeating Quinte, 48-7.

Sarnia Pacer lacrosse teams were dotted with Petrolia and area talent in winning five OLA Zone 7 titles on the weekend as well.
