Petrolia’s Vanderburgt and Norris win national lacrosse gold

Three members of the Sarnia Pacers lacrosse organization are the proud owners of shiny new gold medals from the Canadian minor box lacrosse nationals in Halifax.
Petrolia’s Hazen Vanderburgt and Brody Norris were both on the Ontario U13 roster that won the national championship with a 5-2 win over B.C. in the gold medal game.
Also SMLA past president and the current general manager of the Point Edward Pacers, Tom Quinn served as manager of the gold medal squad.
Ontario went 7-0 over the course of the weeklong event outscoring its opponents, 78-14.
Vanderburgt had four goals and three assists in the national tournament. Norris had a goal and three helpers.
Meantime, Sarnia’s Noal Grondin took silver with Team Ontario in the U17 competition at the same tournament, bowing 5-3 to B.C. in the final.
Grondin had three goals and three assists in six games.
