Noah Myers is having a tremendous summer with the Bowling Green Red Hots of the South Atlantic Baseball League.

The Wyoming Wranglers grad has reached base in 20 straight contests dating back a month. He has hit safely in 17 of 20 games and has drawn at least one walk in each of the other three contests. He is hitting .356 in August.

Overall, in 29 games with the Kentucky club since being returned from the Montgomery Biscuits, has stroked seven
doubles, a home run and has 20 RBI while scoring 17 times.

The Red Hots, the High-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, leads its division with a 29-21 record heading into the weekend.

The regular season ends on Sept. 6

The Sarnia Legionnaires has released defenceman Grady Jalbert allowing him to play closer to home.

The Sudbury-area native has signed with the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Sarnia has signed forward Shayne Leonard. And, the team has released Cole Abbey to Lucan of the PJHL.

Abbey had four goals and four assists in 43 games last season with Sarnia.

The Legionnaires open its preseason schedule against the Stars in St. Thomas on August 28.

Their first exhibition game at home is against Chatham at Progressive Auto Sales Arena on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m.

A member of the Alvinston Killer Bees leadership group is returning for a fourth season with the senior hockey club.

Ethan Lamoureux had 24 goals and 68 points in 32 games last season, including winning the honour for most assist in the Northern Premier Hockey League during the regular season during the 2025-26 campaign.

“Ethan brings skill, speed and plenty of offensive firepower back to Alvinston,” said the team on social media in making the announcement.

Another season of Sarnia Sting hockey is just around the corner.

The team has announced that camp will start Aug. 24 with a practice at 2 p.m. before transitioning to intra-squad games scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday.

An estimated 60 players will be broken into a trio of teams; Team Stamkos, Team Kyrou and Team Chychrun.

The full camp roster will be announced early next week.

Camp will end with the annual Black and White game in support of the local United Way on Friday, August 28 at 6 pm at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

“I’m really excited about the additions Dylan and our management team have made. We’re looking forward to getting
everyone together at the camp, competing, and getting to work,” said Sting Head Coach Mathieu Turcotte in a prepared statement.

Sarnia opens its preseason schedule against the defending champion Rangers in Kitchener Aug. 30. The first home exhibition game Sept. 5 against the Flint Firebirds

Sting defenceman Kaden Aucoin says he’ll suit up for the Boston University Terriers when his OHL career ends.

Although it’s not clear when that will be, the 17-year-old is expected at Sting camp next week.

Aucoin had two goals and seven points in 61 games as an OHL rookie last season.

He’s the second Sting to announce a commitment to BU this summer following Alessandro Di Iorio’s decision in June.

Aucoin is following in the footsteps of his father, Adrian, who played a season with the Terriers in the early 1990’s before embarking on an 18-year NHL career.

A move that has been widely anticipated for quite some time is now a reality.

Kane Barch has signed with the London Knights.

The 17-year-old Texas-born winger was acquired by London from Kitchener at the trade deadline back in January.

Barch, the son of former Knight Krys Barch, was selected in the first round, 22nd overall, by the Rangers in 2025. He played last season with the US National Development Team.

“Kane brings a competitive and winning attitude to our team that matches the brand of hockey we expect in London,” said Knights GM Mark Hunter in a prepared statement. “He understands the history of the London Knights and what it takes to win here and that’s important for our success.”

Prior to being drafted into the OHL, Barch played three seasons with the Huron-Perth Lakers AAA system. His teammates in his draft year included Sarnians Matthew Henderson and Dante D’Andrea, both drafted by the Kingston.

Barch’s older brother Hayden plays in the OHL with North Bay.

The Wyoming Wranglers ran the table in capturing the Lambton Central Girls’ Softball League under-15 championship on the weekend.

After winning three straight games in the preliminary round, the Wranglers downed Corunna, 13-2 in the semi-final and then defeated Chatham, 10-2 in the championship contest.

Mike Weir had rounds of 67, 66 and 66 to finish in a tie for 14th place at the Rogers Charity Classic in Calgary on the weekend.

It’s the only Canadian stop on the Champions Tour.

It was his third top 15 finish of the season and moved him into 57th place on the Charles Schwab money list for the season at just under $214,000.

The top 72 players make the season-ending playoffs.

The tour is in Michigan this weekend with the Ally Challenge at the Warwick Country Club.

Daniel Sisca is the new Director of Skill Development with the OHL’s Barrie Colts.

The 43-year-old, who coached current Sting captain Alessandro Di Iorio with the Vaughan Kings, averaged more than a point per game through his OHL career.

He registered 332 points in 314 games over five seasons, including 36 goals and 105 points in 72 games with the Sting in 2003-04.

Sarnia’s Lachlan Kennedy and Callum White won silver medals at the boys’ under-18 provincial cup on the weekend.

Playing for the Middlesex Millers/London RFC, they defeated Belleville in the semi-finals before falling to Toronto-Balmy Beach in the championship match.
