Flags are at half staffed in Warwick Township following the death of a long-time volunteer firefighter.
Roger Sitlington has volunteered with the Warwick department for 42 years including as a captain and deputy chief.
“His unwavering commitment, leadership, and service to the community will not be forgotten. We extend our deepest condolences to Roger’s family, friends, fellow firefighters, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him,” wrote Warwick Township officials online.
In his obituary, Sitlington’s family said “Family was everything to Roger… he was happiest when he had the kids nearby to tease….
“Roger was also big on community. He raised his family in the same community, and the same house, that he grew up in…
“He could always be found at the pancake breakfasts or having his daily morning coffee with his friends and neighbours.”
Sitlington was 67.
