LCCVI Sr. Girls’ looking for win Tuesday to head to LK basketball finals

November 3, 2026

Ryan Aarts/The Independent

The LCCVI Lancers senior girls basketball team is ready for its LKSSAA semifinal against Wallaceburg Tuesday after a strong regular season.

The Lancers finished the regular season with a 4-1 record, with their most recent win coming in a 53-36 win over North Lambton on October 29. They also defeated Wallaceburg 37-29 earlier in the season, giving them confidence heading into the semifinal.

Senior Belle Stewart believes the team has what it takes to keep its season going.

“I am very confident in my team heading into LKSSAA as long as we keep playing the way we have,” Stewart said. “We can play both sides of the ball. We have strong defence and some really good offensive scorers, which keeps us balanced on both ends,” she said.

A win would send the Lancers to the LKSSAA final and give the team a chance to compete for a championship.

“It would mean a lot, especially with this team, but also since our senior team hasn’t achieved one in a while,” Stewart said.

The Lancers will look to carry their regular-season success into the playoffs as they work toward a championship.

The Lancers will face the Wallaceburg Tartans in the LKSSAA semifinal on Tuesday, November 2nd at LCCVI (With tip off scheduled for 7:00pm) If they win, they will advance to the LKSSAA final on Thursday November 4, with a chance to capture the championship.
