Petrolia Atom Reps win Alvinston Regional Silver Stick
December 30, 2013
Petrolia Atom Reps are going to North American Silver Championships in Forest.
The team clinched the berth into the championship after beating the Ingersoll Express 4-2 at the Alvinston Regional Silver Stick in the ‘B’ division championship game.
The Oiler scored first in the second period, but Ingersoll scored just a minute after that goal. The game was tied going into the third, when Petrolia scored two. Ingersoll added a marker and then, in the dying minutes, the Oilers were called for a tripping penalty. The Express took advantage of the opportunity, pulling their goalie to go six on four to try to tie the game. But the Oilers pounced on a loose puck and scored an empty netter to secure the win.
The Oilers will be competing in Forest Jan. 24 – 26.
