Organizers of Petrolia’s Art in the Park are now looking for artist and artisans for this summer’s show.

This year’s outdoor event will be Friday, July 11 and Saturday July 12.

Barbara Prescott says the committee is accepting proposals from artist now and will hold a juried event to choose who will be accepted to set up displays in Victoria Park.

“We want to make sure that no more than six of any group gets in,” she says. “A lot of jewelry and fabric artist apply…but we’re looking for diversity and quality.”

Prescott says the committee gets applications from as far away as Toronto, Windsor and Hamilton but there is always a strong showing of local artists as well.

“The local artist win by default because of the quality of their work,” says Prescott.

Applications for artists can be picked up at the Oil Heritage Community Centre, 360 Tank St. or apply online at www.artinthepark.com. For questions about artists or food, contact Barbara Prescott at  519-844-2495 or email artintheparkpetrolia@hotmail.com.
