Officer charged after September pursuit near Wyoming

An OPP officer involved in this accident near Wyoming is facing a dangerous driving charge.
The Special Investigations Unit has charged a Lambton OPP officer after investigating a September police chase where one woman was injured.
On Sept. 14, police were pursing a car on Camlachie Road between Churchill and Confederation Roads when the car flipped several times and landed in a soybean field. Neighbours watched as police chased a 29-year-old man from the car several hundred feet through the field while he pleaded for them not to shoot.
Two women were in the car with the man. One woman, a 25 year old from Petrolia, was hospitalized with injuries from the crash.
Because of the injury, the SIU investigated and in a news release Wednesday said there was enough evidence to lay charges.
OPP Const. Kevin Brown faces one charge of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
The officer will appear in court April 28.
