Police have cleared up some of the accidents because of today’s storm, but there are still some problem spots.

An accident on the 402 which closed the eastbound lanes just outside of Sarnia is being cleared.

Lambton OPP, who had been slowing traffic on the highway to try to avoid accidents, worked with Sarnia emergency responders on the 402 near Airport Road on a multi-vehicle accident.

One OPP officer working on the accident in the eastbound lane was struck while he was out of his cruiser. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A driver of a car which was stuck in the middle of the multi-car accident had to be freed by Sarnia firefighters. Lambton EMS took him to hospital.

Sarnia police say River Road between Churchill and LaSalle is open again after a number of cars crashed on the Suncor Curve. An accident on London Road has also been cleared.
Police say Michigan Road between Modeland and Mandaumin is closed because of drifting.
Traffic on Petrolia Line between Mandaumin and the town of Petrolia was at a stand still earlier this evening after several cars were stopped by drifts on the roadways.
Police are still advising drivers to stay off the roads mainly due to high winds and drifting.
Municipal offices, courts and the Oil Heritage District Community Centre all closed early today because of the weather.
