Warwick’s longest serving councillor retiring; six run for council seats

Provincial election set for June 12
May 2, 2014
And they’re off.
Premier Kathleen Wynne has called a provincial election for June 12.
This after NDP Leader Andrea Horwath said she would not support the Wynne governnment’s budget earlier this morning.
The budget introduced Thursday included a 10-year, $2.5 billion fund for business to create jobs, a plan for an Ontario pension plan, increases in personal income taxes for people earning over $150,000 and for smokers, $29 billion for infrastructure programs, $11 billion to build new schools, an increase in minimum wage and the Ontario Child Tax Credit.
Horwath says the Liberals didn’t keep any promises from the last budget so there is no reason to believe she will keep any contained in Thursday’s budget.
