Chamber helping business become accessible
May 5, 2014
Officials want to ramp up accessibility for local businesses.
Local business and tourism officials will launch Accessibility Sarnia-Lambton May 7 with goal to make businesses accessible to everyone.
“There are few things that we could do … that would hold more far-reaching promise to our most vulnerable citizens,” says Sarnia-Lambton Chamber President Rory Ring.
“One in seven Ontarians now suffer from a disability, but just like the rest of us, they want to shop in our markets, eat in our restaurants, and enjoy our entertainments without barriers. Our goal is to show business how to affordably remove them.”
“Everyone in Ontario, including people with disabilities, should have the opportunity to enjoy all that our communities have to offer,” says David C. Onley, Ontario’s Lt. Govenor, who will be in Sarnia the day of the workshop.
