LCCVI’s Seniors were honoured for their contributions to sports. Hannah Daniel was LCCVI’s Stefanko Award nominee, Caroline St. Pierre was named Grade 12 Female Athlete of the Year, Katelyn Nicholson and Ryann McAuley (not pictured) were honoured for athletics over four years. Teyler Collins and Hunter Kedwell received the male award and Darius Landon, a fifth year student, was honoured for his OFSAA achievement in swimming.

Nearly 400 students competed in sports at LCCVI this year. That as the school honoured its athletes June 11.

Top students in each grade and sport where honoured and special honours were given out to seniors graduating this year.

Katelyn Nicholson, Ryann McAuley, Darius Landon and Tyler Collins were recognized for their acheivements in sport over the four years at the Petrolia high school.

Landon and Kole Chapman were honoured after winning at OFSAA. Chapman, a junior, won gold in the 300M Hurdles and Landon won two gold in swimming and set a provincial record. Retiring Swim Coach Lydia Darrach said Landon has won the most OFSAA medals in school history.
