A few scary moments for a young Petrolia girl out on a walk.

Lambton OPP say the girl was out for a walk with her dog on North Street Monday (May 26) when she was approached by a man in a brown van or SUV with dark windows.

The man asked the girl if she wanted to go to his house for candy – she ran away to get help and the man drove away.

The driver didn’t get out of his vehicle but was described as between 50 and 60 years old, almost bald with white stubble on his head, and a dark mark or age spot on his left temple. He was wearing a brown shirt and sunglasses.

The OPP is investigating the incident and say anyone who might have seen the man or had a similar incident should call the OPP. Police add when something like this happens, you should call police immediately.
