A member of Petrolia’s Parks and Recreation Committee says Saturday’s Barn Dance at the Farmers’ Market capped off another successful summer event organized by the town’s committee. About 900 people came out for the concert by Scott Manery and the Barn Burners. Councilor Joel Field says the Art in the Park committee also had a highly successful weekend, Canada Day fireworks drew an estimated 6,000 people and Pizzafest sold 3,000 slices of pizza in Victoria Park. Field says it would not have been possible without the help of local service clubs, dedicated volunteers as well and town staff who gave their own time for the events.
