Petrolia doctor John Butler has been named Physician of the Year by Bluewater Health.
The family physician was given the award at a banquet recently.
Butler is part of a group which formed the Central Lambton Family Health Team, he’s active in recruiting new doctors to the community and he has helped bring student doctors to Petrolia’s Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital.
Dr. Butler regularly teaches medical students and residents and was instrumental in establishing the Family Medicine Residency program in Petrolia. He is a strong advocate for his patients and collaborates with his fellow physicians and other healthcare providers to deliver excellent patient care.
“The commitment of our local physicians to their patients and residents of Sarnia-Lambton makes Bluewater Health’s vision of Exceptional Care- Exceptional People – Exceptional Relations a reality,” said Dr. Mark Taylor, Chief of Professional Staff, Chief of Quality, Patient Safety, Risk Management and Vice-President of Medical Affairs in a news release. “We appreciate the contributions and sacrifices that physicians make on a daily basis to care for our patients.”
