TIPPED IN: The Oilers struck first in their third game at the International Silver Stick in Thedford. Petrolia takes on Ayr tonight in the semi-finals.

 

The Petrolia Midget Reps will play in the semi final of the International Silver Stick in Forest tonight.

The Oilers defeated Troy, Michigan this afternoon 3-2 in a shootout to claim the number one-seed going into the semi’s.

The Reps have played a number of tight games, defeating Ayr in the first match up 4-3 in a shootout and then taking down South Grenville 3-0 Friday.

The Oilers looked to be heading to a regulation 2-1 win over Troy when the Sting scored with a little more than a minute to play. There was no scoring in the 10-minute overtime period and it took three-rounds of shootout action to end the game.

The Reps take on Ayr tonight at 6:50 pm at The Shores Recreation Complex in Forest.

LCCVI’s Zelenchuk win boys’ singles tennis crown

Yarko Zelecnhuk won the boys’ singles banner at the LKSSAA north division tennis tournament this week. The LCCVI student will now advance to the overall LK championship tournament next Tuesday in Chatham. Sam Hayter and Russell Bulgin of the Lancers advanced in the boys’ doubles division as did Lancer teammates Haillie Whiting and Noelle Edgar and Julianna and Brooklyn Brown

Grant backstops Flyers to home ice win
