Flyers even Junior “C” series with Blenheim

A late second period goal by Zach VanEyk turned out to be the game winner as the Alvinston Flyers edged Blenheim 3-2 on Tuesday to even their best-of-seven first round Great Lakes Junior “C” Hockey League series at two games apiece.
Wyoming’s Eric Marsh and Chad Rainsberry of Petrolia also scored for the Flyers.
Game five is Thursday night in Blenheim.
Game six is in Alvinston on Friday night at 7:30 pm

Lancers ride off with victory over Colts

Lyndsi Hull and Marissa Swan both had four point afternoons to lead the LCCVI girls hockey club to a 5-1 win over St. Clair in LKSSAA high school hockey action on Tuesday at the Greenwood Recreation Centre.
Hull had two goals and two assists, while Swan scored once and added three helpers.

Kaitlyn Minten and Sarah McCormick scored the other Lancer goals.  Minten also had an assist.
Petrolia finishes the regular season with a record of 7-1-2.
Playoff dates have not yet been released.
