Temporary shelter still needed until more housing is ready

Canada Day celebrations in Petrolia moving to Greenwood Park
June 26, 2015
The Town of Petrolia has moved its Canada Day celebrations from Bridgeview Park to Greenwood Park.
Monday’s heavy rain soaked the ground in The Flats and then the runoff from the London-Strathroy area from that same storm inundated the park, sending picnic tables floating.
Today, there are still pools of water on the ground although most has dissipated.
The Petrolia Discovery Foundation had a similar situation on Father’s Day weekend, moving it Classic Car Show to Greenwood.
The town has events planned for the entire day culminating with fireworks at dusk.
