Silver Stick action on tap this weekend in Petrolia and Watford

The Petrolia Oilers play quarter-final action this Sunday at 1:30 in the Pee Wee “B” Division at the annual Roy Caley Memorial Silver Stick hockey tournament in Watford.

The Oilers advanced to the playoffs with a 5-4 win over Lambeth and a 4-0 victory over Mt. Brydges last weekend.

Meantime, Mooretown lost its two preliminary games last weekend, but also advanced to the playoffs this weekend against Ilderton just after noon on Saturday and East Lambton split games last weekend and will go up against Delhi this Saturday in quarter-final action in the Pee Wee “C” Division at 2:30 pm.

Meantime, the regional Midget and Atom tournaments open in Petrolia and Alvinston respectively this Sunday and the puck drops on the Bantam affair in Watford on Monday.

Teams from Petrolia, East Lambton, Mooretown and Dresden will be the local teams taking part in Petrolia and Watford, with Petrolia, East Lambton and Mooretown carrying the local banner in Alvinston.
