Petrolia’s Ellsworth honoured as Woman of Excellence

Petrolia’s manager of marketing is being honoured as a Woman of Excellence by the Sarnia Community Foundation.

Laurissa Ellsworth was cited as a “tireless community volunteer” who as the director of marketing and special events “brings a creative and alternative perspective to municipal marketing” In a news release Executive Director Jane Adema adds she is “dedicated to keeping Petrolia on the forefront of small communities in Ontario.”

The community foundation will also honour Holly Wenning of First Monday and the Stars of Tomorrow Musical Theatre Day Camp for her work with Pathways on its 40th anniversary show; Lori Mitchell of Silhouettes Boutique for supporting women with breast cancer through the Looking Good, Feeling Better program.

Realtor Julie Jenkins is being recognized for bringing female entrepreneurs together through Women in Networking and Kathrine Scimmi of McKenzie-Blundy Funeral Home for her work with students on grief and dying as well as being a board member of several community groups.

The five will be honoured in Sarnia June 7.
