North Lambton reaches final four in consolation brackett at OFSAA

The North Lambton senior girls’ basketball club reached the final four in the consolation bracket at the OFSAA A tournament 18-team event in Breslau, near Kitchener.

After losing its first two games and being eliminated from the championship bracket, the Eagles beat Woodstock Collegiate, 32-27 on Friday setting up a consolation semi-final .

Trailing 9-6 to Trinity College, the Eagles fought back to take a 17-14 lead at the break and had a slim 27-26 advantage through three quarters before the Port Hope school exploded for 16 points in the final stanza to beat North Lambton, 44-32. Alexis Wice led the Eagles with 13 points.

North Lambton ends its campaign with an overall record of 15-4.

Their historic season included a Lambton Kent and SWOSSA championship and a ten-game winning steak.

Rural policing relief coming from province
